SB 890 - This act gives a person who operates a hotel or any lodging establishment as defined in section 315.005, RSMo, the right to deny the use of rooms, accommodations, facilities or other privileges of the hotel to specified persons as follows:

(1) An individual is unwilling or unable to pay for the room;

(2) An individual is visibly intoxicated, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and disorderly;

(3) The operator believes the room or accommodation is being sought for unlawful purpose;

(4) Something is being brought in which may create an unreasonable danger or risk, including unlawful use of firearms or explosives; or

(5) An individual whose use of a room or accommodations would result in a violation of the maximum capacity of the hotel.

Each person renting or leasing a room, accommodations or facilities of a hotel must register and may be required to show proof of identity. If the person wishing to register is under the age of eighteen, the owner or operator may also require the parent or guardian of the person to register and pay a security deposit or to be financially responsible for damages caused by minor guests.

The guest registry may be kept and maintained by, recording, copying or reproducing the registry by any process specified in section 315.079 of the act.

The act also sets out the reasons for an owner or operator of a hotel to eject a person from the hotel and to notify the local law enforcement authorities.
