Current Bill Summary

SB 875 - This act would make Public Service Commissioners elected officers, with one from each of the nine congressional districts. Such commissioners would serve four-year terms, except the first ones elected would be staggered, with even- numbered districts serving two-year terms. Currently Public Service Commissioners are appointed and serve six-year terms. Any current commissioner would serve until his term expires.
