Current Bill Summary

SB 760 - Under this act, physician assistants will be licensed rather than registered by the Board of Healing Arts. The scope of practice of physician assistants is expanded to include prescribing drugs pursuant to an agreement between the assistant and the supervising physician. With certain exceptions, the assistant may only prescribe "start-up drugs" for no more than the first 72 hours. The name of the Advisory Commission for Registered Physician Assistants is changed to the Advisory Commission for Physician Assistants.
