SB 711 - This act regulates radiological personnel. The Board of Ionizing Radiation Technology is created in the Department of Economic Development in order to provide professional registration for radiologic technicians. The Board will establish regulatory standards in training and education. Any person who uses ionizing radiation on human beings for diagnostic purposes after July 1, 1999, shall apply for certification.

The act also authorizes the Division of Professional Registration to set up certification criteria, certification examinations, and to establish examination, application, and renewal fees. Such fees are to be deposited in an Ionizing Radiation Technology Fund.
