SB 533- This act makes revisions to the responsibilities of the Oversight Division of the Joint Committee on Legislative Research in light of the recent Missouri Supreme Court decision in State Auditor v. Joint Committee on Legislative Research, et al.
References to "audits", "management audits","program audits" and "postaudits" within sections 23.150, 23.160, 23.170 and 23.190 have been removed and replaced with the term "legislative informational reviews".
Other substantive changes to these sections remove the requirement that reviews result in a public report. As drafted, the report will go to the President Pro Tem of the Senate and the Speaker of the House. The reports will only be distributed to the agency and the Governor at the request of the examined agency.
The act contains an emergency clause.
