The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

MESSAGES FROM THE HOUSE

The following message was received from the House of Representatives through its Chief Clerk:

Mr. President: I am instructed by the House of Representatives to inform the Senate that the House has taken up and adopted the Conference Committee Report on HCS for SB 1, as amended, and has taken up and passed CCS for HCS for SB 1, as amended by Conference Committee Amendments Nos. 1 and 2.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES

Senator Quick, Chairman of the Committee on Rules, Joint Rules and Resolutions, submitted the following report:

Mr. President: Your Committee on Rules, Joint Rules and Resolutions, to which was referred CCS for HCS for SB 1, begs leave to report that it has examined the same and finds that the bill has been duly enrolled and that the printed copies furnished the Senators are correct.

SIGNING OF BILLS

The President Pro Tem announced that all other business would be suspended and CCS for HCS for SB 1, having passed both branches of the General Assembly, would be read at length by the Secretary, and if no objections be made, the bill would be signed by the President Pro Tem to the end that it may become law. No objections being made, the bill was so read by the Secretary and signed by the President Pro Tem.

BILLS DELIVERED TO THE GOVERNOR

CCS for HCS for SB 1, after having been duly signed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives in open session, was delivered to the Governor by the Secretary of the Senate.

RESOLUTIONS

On behalf of Senator DePasco, Senator Quick offered Senate Resolution No. 71, regarding the Missouri Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, which was adopted.

On behalf of Senator Klarich, Senator Quick offered Senate Resolution No. 72, regarding the Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Noll, Washington, which was adopted.

On behalf of Senator Westfall, Senator Quick offered Senate Resolution No. 73, regarding the 1996-97 Halfway High School Boys Baseball Team, which was adopted.

On behalf of Senator Singleton, Senator Quick offered Senate Resolution No. 74, regarding Henry A. Freund, Neosho, which was adopted.

On behalf of Senator Singleton, Senator Quick offered Senate Resolution No. 75, regarding the Southwest Missouri Arthritis Association, which was adopted.

Senator Quick offered Senate Resolution No. 76, regarding Geri Sigler, Kansas City, which was adopted.



On motion of Senator Quick, the Senate adjourned sine die.
