The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

President Pro Tem McKenna in the Chair.

The Chaplain offered the following prayer:

Our Father in Heaven, we care about what others think about us. It is even more important how we see ourselves. Lord, what is most important is how we appear in Your eyes. Help us to conduct ourselves in a manner that will be pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited.

A quorum being established, the Senate proceeded with its business.

The Journal for Friday, September 12, 1997, was read and approved.

Senator Quick announced that photographers from KRCG-TV, KOMU-TV and the Senate had been given permission to take pictures in the Senate Chamber today.
