HB 0904 Improves Access to Immunization For Children
Bill Summary

SCS/HCS/HBs 904, 788 & 966 - This act requires all health insurance policies and health maintenance organizations, including limited mandate health insurance policies, to cover immunizations recommended by the Department of Health for enrollees' children from birth to 5 years. These entities must, as a condition of participation, comply with the immunization requirements of state or federally funded health programs.

The act also allows a parent to delegate in writing the parent's consent to specific individuals, including grandparents of the minor, adult siblings of the minor, adult aunts or uncles of the minor, a stepparent or another adult who has care and control of the minor, for the immunization of a minor.

The provisions of this act will not apply to supplemental insurance policies.

This act is similar to SCS/SBs 763 & 545.
