Current Bill Summary

SB 970 - This act authorizes the court to order a child to work for any employer to satisfy an order of restitution, if the child is age fourteen or older. Compensation earned shall be used for the sole purpose of satisfying the judgment entered against the child. This act also exempts a child age fourteen or older who is ordered to complete such restitution from the term "employee" under Section 290.500 so that such an order does not violate minimum wage requirements.
