SB 635 - This act removes the sales tax exemption for Coast Guard documented boats. In addition, this act creates the "Water Safety Fund." For a period of ten years, beginning in fiscal year 1998, one million dollars shall be transferred each year from General Revenue to the Water Safety Fund. The moneys deposited into the Water Safety Fund shall be used, upon appropriation, solely for water safety programs of the State Water Patrol.
This act is similar to SB 120 (1995).
This act has an effective date of October 1, 1996.
