Current Bill Summary

SB 331 - This act provides that any current and any former state employee be given a five point preference when taking a state merit system examination. The preference is identical to that provided for veterans.

All state agencies must give a hiring preferences to current state employees over those who are not current employees and former state employees shall be given a preference over those who have never been state employees.

Preferences established in this act are applicable if the current or former state employee received at least a satisfactory rating on the last performance appraisal.
