SCS/SB 266 - This act provides for local government crime prevention programs. These programs will be funded through the Missouri Crime Prevention Information Program. In awarding contracts, the Director of Public Safety will place a special emphasis on applications from local government/school district partnerships (partnerships). Such crime prevention programs shall be aimed at people under age twenty-one.

A partnership may apply for a contract with the Department of Public Safety. The state will provide one-third of the funding. The local government will contribute one-third and the school district will also contribute one-third. The Department may audit the expenditure of any contract funds awarded. The Department may promulgate any rules necessary, pursuant to the rules review language, to administer the provisions of this act.
