SB 227 - Under current law, school superintendents may suspend pupils for up to ninety days for certain violations of school policy. The act allows superintendents to suspend pupils for up to one hundred and eighty days. Any suspension for more than ten days may be appealed to the school board or a committee of school board members appointed by the board president.
