SB 148 - Alarm businesses may register with the Division of Fire Safety in the Department of Public Safety. A person or business which is not registered may conduct an alarm business but may not refer to the business as registered.

Persons seeking registration shall submit a fee which shall be placed in the Missouri Private Fire and Intrusion Alarm Business Registration Fund which is created in this act. The Division shall set the fee at an amount sufficient to fund the Division's responsibilities under the act.

Local governments may not impose license or regulation requirements on alarm businesses except for a business tax.

The act has an effective date of July 1, 1996.
