Current Bill Summary

SB 94 - This act prohibits persons under age 21 from driving with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.02% or more. The current limit is 0.10%. Points are assessed against drivers' licenses for violations by minors - 6 points for the first violation and 12 points for any combination of two violations. A minimum suspension of 90 days is imposed for any violation.

The act revises the administrative DWI penalties for minors, although minors are exempted from the requirement for showing proof of financial responsibility prior to reinstatement of the license. A charge will not be dismissed for the lack of a BAC of 0.10%.
