HJR 28 -- State Board of Education

This proposed constitutional amendment changes the method of selecting members of the State Board of Education from appointment by the Governor to election by the qualified voters of the state. The State Board is expanded from 8 to no less than 9 members and the term of office is reduced from 8 to 4 years. Those board members first elected will serve staggered terms of office.
