HB 497 -- State Multi-Family Housing

This bill requires the State Housing Development Commission, before it approves any loan or multi-housing project, to notify all owners of land within 1,000 feet of the proposed site and the city and county in which the proposed site is located of the intent of the commission to approve the loan or project. Developers must obtain approval from local governments for certain on-site facilities. If the city or county provides a traffic study which shows a negative impact of the project on traffic, the developer will be required to construct drives and roads or request that the city or county provide funding for such drives or roads.
