Current Bill Summary

HB 195 - This act makes several changes in statutes pertaining to libraries.

1. The State Library will disseminate information by necessary methods and means within Missouri.

2. If voters have not approved a tax within a five year period following establishment of a library district, the district will be dissolved.

3. The power of a library board to issue bonds to purchase land as well as erect library buildings and improve existing buildings is expanded.

4. Expands the term "library network".

5. Creates the "Library Networking Fund".
