COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Commerce by a vote of 19 to 0.

This substitute requires the Oversight Division of the Committee on Legislative Research to indicate on each fiscal note whether proposed legislation will have an economic impact on small businesses. "Small business" is defined as any independently owned entity employing 50 or fewer full-time employees.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that having information about whether proposed legislation may have an impact on small businesses is an important decision making tool for legislators.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Mays; National Federation of Independent Business; Missouri Chamber of Commerce; and Missouri Association of Realtors.
