Current Bill Summary

SB 1515 - This act provides that the Department of Public Safety shall establish a pilot program to make electroencephalogram combined transcranial magnetic stimulation (eTMS) available for veterans, first responders as defined in federal law, and federal agents with substance use disorder, other mental disorders, or brain injuries.

The Department shall establish locations to provide clinical services and treatments as provided in the act. The Department shall develop rules for the pilot program as provided in the act and shall require any provider providing services to submit a report to the General Assembly by December 31st of each year.

This act also establishes the "Electroencephalogram Combined Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Fund" which shall fund the pilot program. The fund may receive any grants, donations, or appropriations for purposes of operating the pilot program.

This act is substantially similar to SB 654 (2023).
