SB 508 - This act removes language that specifically identifies persons seeking permits to purchase or possess a firearm from a provision which currently allows law enforcement agencies to examine closed records. Under this act, closed records are not available to any law enforcement agency or government entity that are determining an individual's eligibility to purchase or possess a firearm or ammunition. If the law enforcement agency or government entity obtains a court order to make the records available, then the records shall be available to the agency or entity that obtained the court order.
This act contains an emergency clause.
