Current Bill Summary

SB 290 - The Director of Revenue currently has the authority to waive the driving skills test for a commercial driver's license for qualified military applicants. This act allows the Director of Revenue to also waive the knowledge test. (Section 302.720.2(5)).

The act lengthens, from 90 days to one year, how recently an applicant must have been employed in a qualifying military position in order to be eligible for the waivers. (Section 302.720.2(5)(f)).

This act is identical to provisions in SB 89 (2019), SB 919 (2018), HB 2497 (2018), HCS#2/SS#2/SCS/SB 1050 (2018), and SCS/HCS/HBs 2277 & 1983 (2018).
