SB 878 - Under this act, whenever any law enforcement officer is expressly requested to render assistance by the highest ranking official of any requesting entity for a specific event and such law enforcement officer chooses to provide such assistance, he or she shall have the same powers of arrest as he or she has in his or her own jurisdiction and any powers of arrest as officers of the requesting entity. Such officers are still considered employees of their employer but enjoy the same legal immunities as an officer of the requesting entity, including sovereign immunity, official immunity, and the Missouri public duty doctrine.
