SB 723 - This act requires each hospital, except for a mental health hospital, to adopt, implement, and periodically update evidence-based protocols for the early recognition and treatment of patients with sepsis, severe sepsis, or septic shock. Each hospital shall ensure that all relevant staff are trained to implement the sepsis protocols. The Department of Health and Senior Services may require that hospitals submit documentation of the adoption of such protocols. Finally, no hospital shall be held liable in any way for any acts or omissions as a result of the provisions of this act.

This act is identical to SCS/SB 97 (2017).
