SB 1041 - This act requires an organizations affiliated with an elected official to file an annual report with the Missouri Ethics Commission if the organization spends or expects to spend $10,000 or more in a calendar year on the production or dissemination of certain public communications featuring an elected official with whom the organization is affiliated. The act requires each report filed by an organization affiliated with an elected official to include the name of the elected official who is affiliated with the organization, the names of any donors who have donated $5,000 or more to the organization in the previous calendar year, and an accounting of payments made for certain public communications featuring the elected official who is affiliated with the organization, among other information. The act requires the Missouri Ethics Commission to take specific actions to implement its provisions. In addition, the act delineates the procedures for the filing of complaints of alleged violations and for the punishment of any person who knowingly violates its provisions.
