Current Bill Summary

SCS/SCR 25 - This concurrent resolution establishes the State Innovation Waiver Task Force.

The purpose of the task force is to develop a health care reform plan that meets the requirements to obtain a state innovation waiver under the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act.

The task force shall fully consider and make recommendations in a report examining approaches to providing health care that would qualify for an innovation waiver, develop a plan for applying for the waiver, and include a draft application with its report.

The task force shall submit its report to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the veto session of 2018, and shall terminate by a majority vote of its members or December 31, 2018, whichever is earlier. If the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is repealed or replaced, the task force shall remain in force to continue to develop innovative approaches to providing comprehensive and affordable health care coverage to residents of this state.
