Current Bill Summary

SB 530 - Under current law, any ordinance established by a political subdivision relating to establishing a minimum wage is prohibited, unless such ordinance was in effect on August 28, 2015. This act repeals the grandfather provision of that law and inserts new language stipulating that the state minimum wage laws shall preempt and nullify all political subdivision ordinances relating to the establishment and enforcement of a minimum or living wage.

This act is substantially similar to the truly agreed to SS#2/HCS/HBs 1194 & 1193 (2017).
