SB 498 - This act establishes a partnership between the St. Louis school district, the city of St. Louis, and nonprofit organizations to allow students who are picked up by a law enforcement officer or safety officer for being absent from school to be taken to the nonprofit organization. While at the nonprofit organization the student may receiving mentoring and counseling services. The nonprofit organization shall notify the student's school that the student is at the nonprofit, and the school shall then notify the student's parent of his or her location.
