Current Bill Summary

SB 320 - This act specifies that the Division of Professional Registration must issue an electrical contractor certificate to a holder of a current and active electrical contractor license issued by any political subdivision of this state whose requirements are equal to or exceed the requirements for obtaining an electrical contractor license on August 28, 2014, in St. Louis County.

The certificate authorizes the licensed electrical contractor to practice anywhere within any political subdivision of this state. Political subdivisions are required to recognize the certificate in lieu of any licensure requirements of the political subdivision. An electrical contractor certificate must be issued upon the payment of a fee as established by rule by the Division and proof of a valid license issued by a political subdivision.

The Division must annually survey political subdivisions and publish a list of political subdivisions that issue electrical contractor licenses whose requirements are equal to or exceed the requirements for obtaining an electrical contractor license on August 28, 2014, in St. Louis County.

This act is substantially similar to HB 2149 (2016).
