Current Bill Summary

SB 317 - Current law provides that a physician may not make a referral for physical therapy services if the physician has a financial relationship with the entity providing the services and certain financial arrangements are exempt from disciplinary action. Current law also provides that a physician is required to provide patients with a disclosure form where the physician acknowledges a pecuniary interest in the prescribed physical therapy treatment. This act adds to the list of exemptions from disciplinary action a situation where the patient or guardian has signed such disclosure form.
