SB 26 - This act allows Kansas City to employ airport police officers to protect persons and property and to preserve the peace at airports in the city. The airport police officers may carry firearms, wear uniforms and badges, enforce city ordinances and state statutes on the public roads within the boundaries of the airports, and perform other duties within the airport boundaries that are consistent with the powers provided under statute to the Kansas City Police Department.

This act requires the airport police officers to take an oath of office. The police officers must satisfactorily complete a training course for police officers as prescribed under statute for state peace officers.
