Current Bill Summary

SB 846 - Currently, each county commission may establish a county law enforcement restitution fund that is supervised by a board of trustees consisting of certain appointed county citizens. This act adds two citizens of the county appointed by the prosecuting attorney to the board of trustees.

In addition, this act specifies that money from the fund may only be expended for the sheriff or prosecuting attorney.

This act is identical to HB 2259 (2016).
