SCS/SB 1032 - Under this act, for any nonpartisan election in any county, the political subdivision or special district responsible for the oversight of filing for a particular election may designate the county clerk or board of election commissioners as the entity responsible for overseeing filing. If a political subdivision or special district chooses to designate its filing responsibilities, the county clerk or board of election commissioners has to choice to assume such filing responsibilities. If the county clerk or board of election commissioners accept filing responsibilities, such entity is required to publish legal notice of that fact, indicating where persons may file for office. The respective political subdivision or special district is responsible for the costs associated with any non-partisan election conducted under this act.
