Current Bill Summary

SB 357 - This act requires each law enforcement agency in St. Louis County to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies by January 1, 2017.

If an agency is not accredited on or after January 1, 2017, the city, town, village, or county in which the law enforcement agency has jurisdiction may not retain any revenues from fines and court costs for traffic violations until the law enforcement agency becomes accredited. The municipality or county must send the revenues to the Department of Revenue to be distributed to the schools of the county.
