Current Bill Summary

SB 249 - Currently, scrap metal operators are exempt from the requirement to obtain an original certificate of title, salvage title, or junking certificate if a vehicle or its parts are more than 10 years old after certifying that there is no lien on the motor vehicle or more than 20 years old without the lien check requirement. This act repeals this provision.

This act is identical to SB 597 (2014).
