Current Bill Summary

SB 911 - Under current law, it is a defense to certain criminal offenses involving property that the defendant had a claim of right to the property and has reasonable grounds to believe he or she has such right.

This act makes the defense unavailable to any tenant who willfully or wantonly destroys, defaces, damages, impairs, or removes any part of a leased structure or dwelling unit.
