Current Bill Summary

SCS/SB 550 - This act provides that a participant of any retirement system established by the state of Missouri or any political subdivision who is found guilty of certain felonies specified in the act involving $5,000 or more and committed in connection to the participant's employment will forfeit retirement benefits based on service rendered on or after the enactment of this act. The participant may still request a refund of contributions made to the plan.

Upon a finding of guilt, the court shall notify the appropriate retirement system of its finding.

This act is similar to SB 823 and to provisions contained in the truly agreed to and finally passed version of HB 1217 (2014).
