Current Bill Summary

SB 397 - This act allows motor vehicle registration applicants to make a $1 donation, at the time of application, to the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial in Kansas City. The $1 donations shall be deposited in a newly created World War I Memorial Trust Fund. The trust fund shall be used for the sole purpose of funding the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial in Kansas City. In addition, the act transfers all moneys in the World War II Memorial Trust Fund to the newly established World War I Memorial Trust Fund. Following the transfer of the money, the World War II Memorial Trust Fund is abolished and the provision of law allowing certain license plate applicants to make donations to the then defunct fund is sunsetted.

Provisions similar to these can be found in the truly agreed to version of SB 252 (2013).
