SB 421 - This act requires each child who has attained the age of eleven but not attained the age of twelve to receive one dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine. A booster dose is required after the child attains the age of sixteen. A student may be exempted based on medical reasons or religious beliefs. The Department of Health and Senior Services must promulgate rules to implement this requirement.

This act also requires each student attending a public institution of higher education who lives in on-campus housing to receive the meningococcal conjugate vaccine unless he or she has a medical or religious exemption.

This act is identical to HB 705 (2013).
