Current Bill Summary

SB 448 - This act allows the circuit court of the City of St. Louis to establish a special docket known as the "Armed Offender Docket" for the prosecution of certain weapons offenses.

A thirty dollar surcharge shall be collected for all criminal cases assigned to the Armed Offender Docket, which is to be used for the prosecution and pretrial supervision of such cases. The surcharge will not be collected when the case is dismissed. The circuit court's presiding judge, prosecuting attorney, and law enforcement agency shall assist in the coordination and sharing of information concerning the docket.

Every six months following the creation of the docket, the circuit court shall publish a public report on the operations of the docket.

This act is similar to SB 482 (2013).
