HB 1615 - Currently, any action seeking monetary damage against a person for conduct or speech at a public hearing or meeting is subject to a special motion to dismiss, a motion for judgment on the pleadings, or a motion for summary judgment so it can be considered on an expedited basis to prevent the unnecessary expense of litigation. This act allows any action against a person for conduct or speech at a public hearing or meeting to be subject to these special motions. This act is similar to provisions contained in HCS/HB 1256 (2012), HCS/SB 628 (2012) and HCS/SB 636 (2012). MIKE HAMMANN
