A native of southeast Missouri, Sen. Rob Mayer represents in the Missouri Senate the 25th Senatorial District, which is made up of Butler, Dunklin, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Ripley, Stoddard and Wayne counties. Elected to the Missouri Senate in 2004 and 2008, Sen. Mayer previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2000-2004.

Senator Mayer is a 1975 graduate of Dexter High School, received his undergraduate degree in political science from Southeast Missouri State University and his juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He and wife, Nancy, were married in 1978 and have three sons: Jason, Dustin, and Daniel. In addition to his work in the Missouri Senate, Sen. Mayer is an attorney and previously worked as a farmer, broadcaster, and an industrial engineering technician.

Active in many community and regional activities, Sen. Mayer is a member of the Dexter First Baptist Church, Missouri Farm Bureau, Dexter Chamber of Commerce, Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce, the Stoddard County Bar and Missouri Bar associations, Dexter Kiwanis Club, American-International Charolais Association, NRA, Stoddard County Gospel Mission Board, Missouri Delta Center Advisory Committee, and Missouri Veterans Home Foundation Board.
