Current Bill Summary

HCS/SCS/SBs 36 & 112 - Currently, the penalty for forcible rape or sodomy of a child under the age of twelve is life imprisonment without eligibility for probation or parole until the person has served at least thirty years of such sentence. Under this act, the penalty for such crimes is life imprisonment without ever being eligible for probation, parole, or conditional release, if such forcible rape or sodomy of a child is outrageously or wantonly vile, horrible or inhuman in that it involved torture or depravity of mind.
