SCS/HCS/HB 795 - This act establishes the Small Business Get Off My Back Act. The annual gross volume sales limit for exemption from the minimum wages law is increased from five hundred thousand dollars to one million dollars. The imposition of new state regulations and user fee increases are prohibited for the next three years, except for federal mandates. The act allows a small business to retain an additional one percent for a total of three percent of collections for the timely filing discount when remitting sales tax to the Department of Revenue until July 1, 2012. Subject to appropriations, the act authorizes the Small Business Regulatory Fairness Board to hire one and one-half full-time equivalent employees to perform certain clerical and professional tasks and to receive additional funding for certain board-related costs.

The act contains an emergency clause and becomes effective July 1, 2009, or upon its passage and approval, whichever is later.
