SCS/HB 1972 – The school board for each school district is required to annually provide a detailed financial statement to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education containing names, total compensation packages, and any expenses made on behalf of the districts' superintendents, any assistant superintendents, and any consultant hired for administrative duties. Such information shall be published on the Department's website.

This act modifies the Public School Retirement System of Missouri (PSRS) and the Public Education Employee Retirement System (PEERS). After June 30, 2009, nonprofit educational associations or organizations will no longer be able to have their employees become members of PSRS or PEERS.

This act contains a provision identical to SB 1153 (2008), is similar to a provision contained in SCS/SBs 1153, 1154, 1155 & 1156 (2008), and is similar to a provision contained in HCS/HBs 2040 & 2430 (2008).
