HB 1371 - Under current law, rural empowerment zones may only exist in Hickory County and only two such zones may exist at the same time. This act authorizes the designation of rural empowerment zones in any county with eighteen thousand residents or less and prohibits the existence of more than two rural empowerment zones per county.
