Biography for Senator Loudon

Senator Loudon has served the people of Chesterfield and the Great State of Missouri in the Missouri Legislature since his election to the Missouri House of Representatives in 1994. He was elected to the Missouri Senate in 2000. He is a fiscal conservative who has been recognized as the Taxpayer Watch Dog of the Year.

Senator John Loudon has the 3rd most seniority in the Missouri Senate, and is the 3rd youngest member of the Senate.

Senator Loudon is Chairman of the Small Business, Insurance and Industrial Relations Committee and Vice-chairman of the Governmental Accountability and Fiscal Oversight Committee. John is the author, sponsor, and handler of many major pieces of legislation including the Missouri Quality Jobs Act, and the recent Workers' Compensation Reform Act.

John is a member of several Chambers of Commerce; he is the Missouri Chair of the National Republican Legislators Association; and he is a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council. Senator Loudon chairs the Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force and is also a member of Covenant Family Church.

He has received various recognitions for his service to Missourians including: Legislator of the Year, by the Alliance for Animal Legislation; Voice of Missouri Business from the Associated Industries of Missouri; Spirit of Enterprise Award, Missouri Chamber of Commerce; "Home Town Hero," Independent Electrical Contractors, Inc.

Senator Loudon is a small business owner. He is married to Dr. Gina Loudon. They have five children: daughters, Lyda and Lily, and sons Jack, Samuel and Bo. John earned his Bachelor of Arts at Westminster College; he is currently doing post-graduate work, specializing in Law and Government Policy studies in the J.D. program at Oak Brook College.

He was elected to the House: 1994-98; elected to the Senate: 2000, 2004. He is a Republican.
