HCS/HB 1551 - Under current law, barber shop and cosmetology establishment owners must obtain a license before commencing business. This act establishes a 45-day grace period for obtaining a license when a barber shop or a cosmetology establishment either changes ownership or location. During this period, the sanitary inspector shall conduct inspections without requiring the establishment to close business or deviate from its regular hours of operation.

This act is identical to SCS/SB 934 (2006).
