HCS/HB 1180 - Currently, under Department of Elementary and Secondary Education rules, school districts may be financially penalized for transporting students who live less than a mile from school. This act exempts from administrative penalties districts that demonstrate their students have to cross highways and arterials under specified conditions. This act is identical to SB 1169 (2006).
The provisions of this act are also contained in the perfected SB 644 (2006).
