Missourinet's Bob Priddy hosts this monthly half-hour roundtable program bringing legislators from both sides of the aisle together to discuss their positions on pending legislation affecting all Missourians.

2008

January 2008 -  Senate President Pro Tem Michael Gibbons, R-Kirkwood; Senate Minority Caucus Chairman Frank Barnitz, D-Lake Spring; House Speaker Pro Tem Bryan Pratt, R-Blue Springs; and House Minority Floor Leader Paul LeVota, D-Independence discuss priorities from both chambers in the General Assembly.
February 2008 - Education is one of the key issues the Legislature must address each session.  Senate Majority Floor Leader Charlie Shields, R-St. Joseph; Senator Rita Heard Days, D-St. Louis; Representative Jane Cunningham, R-Chesterfield; and Representative Joe Aull, D-Marshall are members of the Senate and House Education Committees and express their view on how education should be addressed in the General Assembly.
March 2008 - Lawmakers discuss one of the issues the General Assembly is working on this session - health care.  The panel also touches on autism and how it affects the lives of Missourians.  Senator Scott T. Rupp, R-Wentzville; Representative Dwight Scharnhorst, R-Manchester; and Representative Sara Lampe, D-Springfield have addressed autism in different ways, either by serving on a committee, filing legislation, or dealing with the issue on a more personal level outside of the Capitol walls. Three members of the Missouri General Assembly join veteran Capitol Press Corps member Bob Priddy in a roundtable discussion over the major issues affecting all Missourians.  These lawmakers discussed property taxes in various forms, including property tax legislation that is making its way through the General Assembly. February 2007 – Senator Brad Lager, R-Maryville; Senator Jeff Smith, D-St. Louis; Representative Mike Sutherland, R-Warrenton; and Representative Clint Zweifel, D-Florissant appear on this month’s Capitol Dialogue.  Several of these members serve on the Senate and House and Ways and Means Committee, which examine and report upon all matters and bills concerning the revenue and public dept of the state. March 2007 - Senator Gary Nodler, R-Joplin; Senator Yvonne Wilson, D-Kansas City; Representative Jane Cunningham, R-Chesterfield; and Representative Sara Lampe, D-Springfield appear on this month’s Capitol Dialogue.  These members serve on education committees in the Senate and House, which examine and report upon all matters and bills concerning education in the state of Missouri. April 2007 - Senator John Loudon, R-Chesterfield; Senator Wes Shoemyer, D-Clarence; Representative Rob Schaaf, R-St. Joseph; and Representative Judy Baker, D-Columbia appear on this month’s Capitol Dialogue.  The guests discuss the complexities of health care reform and the debate over the Missouri Health Improvement Act of 2007. May 2007 - Senator Chuck Gross, R-St. Charles; Senator Joan Bray, D-St. Louis; Representative Allen Icet, R-Wildwood; and Representative Margaret Donnelly, D-St. Louis appear on this month’s Capitol Dialogue.  The guests highlight education, healthcare, tax cuts for seniors and protections for women and children in the state budget for FY 2008.

These guests discuss renewable resources and how these energy sources could benefit Missourians around the state. August 2007 – Senator John Griesheimer, R-Washington; Senator Wes Shoemyer, D-Clarence; Representative Ron Richard, R-Joplin; and Representative Michael Spreng, D-Florissant discuss the recent call for a special session, where the General Assembly will tackle a revamped economic development package and a transportation bill to assist in maintaining and repairing the state’s bridges September 2007 Senator Bill Stouffer, R-Napton; Senator Maida Coleman, D-St. Louis; Rep. Bryan Pratt, R-Blue Springs; and Rep. Paul LeVota, D-Independence discuss the conclusion of this years special session, where the General Assembly tackled a revamped economic development package and a transportation bill that provides a new framework for the way future MoDOT projects are completed. October 2007 - Senator Carl Vogel, R-Jefferson City and Senator Chuck Graham, D-Columbia discuss immigration and illegal immigrants, which has emerged as a major issue — not only within the state, but within the nation.
November 2007 — Representative Chuck Portwood, R-Ballwin, and Representative Paul Quinn, D-Monroe City, discuss tax policy in Missouri.  The Joint Committee on Tax Policy is charged with studying and analyzing the current and proposed tax policy in our state. December 2007 —  Senator Gary Nodler, R-Joplin; Senator Yvonne Wilson, D-Kansas City; Representative Edward Robb, R-Columbia; and Representative Rachel Storch, D-St. Louis discuss the appropriations process in the General Assembly.
